Live Edge Wood Fractal Art Designs

►DO HORSES FORM BONDS WITH THEIR OWNERS?

Yes, they do. Horses are special creatures. They  have long memories for both the humans they've bonded with in a positive way. They are majestic, strong and can display a broad range of emotions. Whether they’re around humans or other horses, they are amazingly communicative and thrive in social settings. These qualities are part of the reason why horses can develop such a strong bond with humans.
►WOOD MATERIAL: Each live edge desert hardwood MESQUITE is uniquely hand-crafted and custom designed from weathered-down trees around Maricopa County, Arizona. By acquiring these logs, it allows me to create 100% sustainable, re-purposed live edge wood art designs. Locally source and made in North Peoria, Arizona. The wood is shape into a single heart and cut in the middle. The horse hair is set in between the two pieces of wood to form a gap. Epoxy resin is poured in the gap to seal the centerline of the heart. This represents the bond between horse and the owner.

►MANE: The mane is set in between the two heart pieces of the wood. Clear epoxy resin is poured to seal the centerline of the heart. This represents the bond between horse and the owner.
►HORSESHOE: The original horseshoe is used and secured in the center back of the heart wood.
►FRACTAL ART: It’s a process of applying thousands of voltage on the wood recreating lightning strikes in random slow motion making unique abstract figures, tree and vein like shapes on the surface of the wood. It is sealed with epoxy inlay ink self-leveling high gloss U.V. resistant formula. *Warning: Don’t try this at home. It is fatal and deadly.
►EPOXY: Self-leveling high gloss U.V. resistant formula epoxy with DARK RED METALLIC pigment is added to seal the burns created during fractal art process on the surface of the wood.
►OIL FINISH: Hand rubbed finish using Old Masters gel polyurethane clear satin gel on wood surface. It brings out the natural beauty of wooden surfaces; durable coating for use on wood surfaces and contains ultraviolet absorbers for advanced sun protection.
►USE AND CARE: To revitalize desert hardwood, apply UltraPro Mineral Oil and wipe off excess. UltraPro® Food Grade White Mineral Oil helps maintain and preserve wood board surfaces. It is colorless, odorless, and tasteless mixtures of saturated paraffinic and naphthenic hydrocarbons.

►ABOUT THE ARTIST: Garie Chavez [Artisan/Musician/Luthier] – I have been creating live edge wood art since 2015, transforming sustainably recovered desert hardwood into one-of-a-kind functional works of art. In 2020, I expanded my craft by designing custom handmade guitar hangers featuring fractal art and ocean wave resin designs for celebrity musicians. By 2023, I completed my first custom handmade electric guitar, incorporating my signature fractal art into a fully handcrafted instrument. Every piece I create reflects my commitment to patience, persistence, passion, and meticulous attention to detail. No two creations are ever alike. My goal is to craft artwork that is not only beautiful and functional, but also deeply personal—something my clients will treasure for years to come, knowing it was made especially for them. Thank you for welcoming my art into your home and allowing me to be a part of your story.
