►WOOD: Arizona grown desert hardwood MESQUITE is uniquely hand-crafted and custom designed from weathered-down trees found in the suburban metropolitan Phoenix area. By acquiring desert hardwood logs, allows me to create 100% sustainable, repurposed live edge wood designs. The wood is shape into a single heart and cut in the middle.
►MANE: The mane is set in between the two heart pieces of the wood. Clear epoxy resin is poured to seal the centerline of the heart. This represents the bond between horse and the owner.
►HORSESHOE: The original horseshoe is used and secured in the center back of the heart wood.
►FRACTAL ART: A process of applying 20,000 volts of electricity to the wood surface recreating a lightning strike in slow motion as well as unique abstract figures, tree and veinlike shapes.
►EPOXY: Self-leveling high gloss U.V. resistant formula epoxy with DARK RED METALLIC pigment is added to seal the burns created during fractal art process on the surface of the wood.
►OIL FINISH: Hand rubbed finish using Old Masters clear satin gel polyurethane to bring out the natural beauty of wooden surfaces.
►USE AND CARE: To revitalize desert hardwood, apply UltraPro Mineral Oil and wipe off excess. UltraPro® Food Grade White Mineral Oil helps maintain and preserve wood surfaces. It is colorless, odorless, and tasteless mixtures of saturated paraffinic and naphthenic hydrocarbons.
